Why St. Joseph School?
Deep faith, strong academics, joyful student fun and a powerful website. These four pillars of strength were stressed at recent open houses by St. Joseph school principal Chris Multhauf, and are an effective lesson on how parishioners can help grow enrollment in our school.
"We start and end each school day in prayer and we celebrate student Mass every Wednesday morning," Multhauf explained. The school features numerous Lenten and Advent devotions and very thorough sacramental preparation that produce impressive community involvement. "Faith is alive and well at St. Joseph School."
"Academics take center stage at the school," he said. "It has been our pinpoint focus. Though we don't overtest, we do monitor progress through testing at the start, in the middle and at the end of the school year. We also do curriculum mapping to be fully aware of what is being taught in each grade so there is a continuum in Kindergarten through 8th, and we also offer significant programs in art, music, band, string, even learning to play the ukelele," he explained.
Multhauf praised his staff for providing outstanding extra-curricular experiences for students that produce lifelong memories, including forensics, athletics, class trips, Spanish instruction and STEAM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Art-Math) offerings.
All these attributes are pulled together on our new school website that provides meaningful insights and school connections to not only parents, but also to parishioners and with the outside community.
